Agape is about the self-giving, brotherly, unconditional decision to love in all relationships of one person to another. It is the perfection of love manifested in the nature of our God, the Holy Trinity. Agape expresses the loving trusting fiat of Mary to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Agape is Jesus loving us unto death. Agape is the Father accepting us as blood-kin, Go-el, through the blood of Jesus. Agape is Christ giving, from the cross, his mother into relationship with us for all eternity. Agape is our loving her back, in filial devotion, for her giving birth to the Savior of the World.
The child Jesus is the Incarnation of the Eternal Word of God. He presents himself to us as a starving child, reminding us of our brothers and sisters who are suffering because of sin in the world. Even in suffering, his hands are raised in praise to the Father.
The nails of the crucifiction form the cross, from which the blood of Christ brings healing to all people. They also form the sword, prophesied by Simeon, which pierced Mary's heart.
The Father, eternal consuming fire of love, unconditionally offers us his Son in the white light of the Eucharist. The Dove, symbolizes the Holy Spirit, the Father's eternal gift to us in relationship with his son.
The Angel's right arm, barely visible, represents the care and protection of all heavenly host to mother and child, to all of us, to all creation. His left arm points us to God, to truth, to infinite mercy.

The exuberance of childhood is gone. Childish, youthful energy is no more. The children are gone. The posssibilty of bringing that back is no more likely than to safely climb the broken, decayed ladder. Priorities have changed. Life goes on, and yet, there is a subdued richness in its place. And, of course, a new ladder can alwys be built...but, can one truly rebuild the child's delight in simple things?

This work is representative of the Holy Trinity. The consuming fire, the everlasting flame, is the Father. His arms emerge from his being to encircle Christ, the Eternal Word, who is centered in the white light of the Eucharistic gift. The Eucharist is the heart of God present with us, actively loving us, pouring out his love upon us. The right hand of the Father is open, extended toward the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which he offers to us as a gift. His left hand is lightly touching the earth, holding it gently, openly.
"The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the full revelation of God, who is love. In honoring the heart of Jesus, we honor not the physical organ which pumped the life-blood through his body, but the very person of Jesus whose infinite love is symbolized by his heart."
(Fr.Paul G. Hinnebusch, OP)
The Holy Spirit is in the form of a dove. He hovers across the chest of Jesus and gently holds the Sacred Heart of Jesus in his talons from which the earth securely dangles.

Scriptures which confirm and affirm the human life's journey fill the inside edge of the diamond window. Light spills over the blackness of the bar that would separate us from God, if it weren't for the cross and the resurrection of Jesus, The Christ, The Lamb of God.
These scriptures speak to us of our need for reconciliation with God and each other, of our need to repent of all our sins, of all that is self-centered in our weaknesses and desires. These prevent us from receiving the immense love God has for us. The Rosary beads represent the Good News. Evert decade is a different meditation on the life and teachings of Christ. We are called to contemplate the death and resurrection of the Lord, to grasp the gift of salvationm.
